Sunblock Social Event

To bring awareness, inform, and educate about the use of sunscreen. Importance of skin cancer to the Emerald Coast community.

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in the U.S., and unprotected UV exposure is one of the largest risk factors for skin cancer. As you head outdoors for warmer weather and fresh air amid shelter-in-place measures, the AAD encourages you to #PracticeSafeSun. The Sunblock Social event aims to bring awareness, inform, and educate about the use of sunscreen while stressing the importance of skin cancer awareness in the Emerald Coast community.

Sunblock Event Proposal by AB+Production Team

Why do we do this event?

Sunblock Social is an event in the month of May, which corresponds with Skin Cancer Awareness Month. With skin cancer being one of America’s most common forms of cancer, especially in the state of Florida, we wanted to bring people together to spread awareness, inform, and educate the Emerald Coast about the importance of using sunscreen. There are over five million cases diagnosed in the United States each year. Our sponsors, along with others in the Emerald Coast community, have had relatives or known someone with skin cancer. They understand, firsthand, the requirements needed to introduce the significance of skin cancer awareness to our Emerald Coast lifestyle. Proceeds from Sunblock Social will be donated to the Skin Cancer Foundation.
